Students from TU Dublin and UCD Innovation Academy raise €1,208 for Let’s Get Talking with campaign to get men talking

Six students went above and beyond for their course assignment and surpassed their fundraising target for a very worthy cause.

€1,208 was raised by students from TU Dublin and UCD Innovation Academy for the charity Let’s Get Talking, which offers affordable and accessible counselling services to adults and teenagers.

The goal of the assignment was for students to undertake an online fundraising initiative for a charity of their choice. It required the students to generate their own fundraising ideas and organise the fundraising initiative.  They selected Let’s Get Talking and chose to focus on trying to reach men to make them aware of the services of Let’s Get Talking.

They drove a guerrilla digital marketing and fundraising campaign over 5 days under the campaign banner – Lads! Let’s Get Talking to build awareness and engagement and to encourage donations.

Amy Kelly Fundraising & Communications Manager, Let’s Get Talking.

“We would sincerely like to thank all who organised the Lads! Let’s Get Talking fundraiser in aid of our service. Not only was this a fantastic fundraiser but also an incredible awareness campaign encouraging men to seek support when needed. This campaign truly went above and beyond and it was a pleasure to work with everyone to help reach their goal”.

Commenting the students said:

It’s been an absolute privilege to work on this campaign for such a worthy cause. Let’s Get Talking does such vital work and we truly hope the funds raised can support the high quality and necessary counselling services they provide. Huge thanks to all who donated.”
